Psalms 85
Open Word Bible
You were pleased with your land, LORD; you brought Jacob’s fortunes back. You took away the guilt of your people and covered over all their sins. Selah You drew back all your fury; you turned away from your blazing anger. Bring us back, God who saves us, and put an end to your displeasure with us. Will you be angry with us for all time? Will you stretch out your anger to every generation? Will you not bring us back to life once more, and let your people be glad in you? Let us see your loyal love, LORD, and give us your salvation. I am listening for what God, the LORD, will say: he will speak of peace to his people, to those who are loyal to him; only let them not slide back into foolishness. Truly his salvation is close at hand for those who fear him, so that glory will settle in our land. Loyal love and faithfulness meet as friends; righteousness and peace greet each other with a kiss. Faithfulness grows up out of the earth, and righteousness gazes down from heaven. The LORD will surely give good things, and our soil will bring forth its crops. Righteousness will walk ahead of him and make a road for his steps.
