Psalms 62
Open Word Bible
I am quiet before God alone; my rescue comes from him. Only he is my rock who saves me, my high fortress; I will not be badly shaken. How long will you all rush at one man to batter him down, as if he were a leaning wall, a fence about to fall? Their only plan is to bring him down from his high place; they love what is false. Their lips speak blessing while inside they curse. Selah Be still before God alone, my soul, for he is the source of my hope. Only he is my rock who saves me, my high fortress; I will not be shaken. On God rest my rescue and my honor; the rock of my strength and my shelter are in God. People, rely on him in every season; empty your hearts out before him. God is our shelter. Selah Ordinary people are only a breath, and the great are a lie; put on the scales, they rise; all together they weigh less than a breath. Do not lean on what you gain by force, or let robbery fill you with empty hopes; if wealth multiplies, do not give your heart to it. God has spoken one thing, and I have heard it twice over: that strength is God’s, and to you, Lord, belongs loyal love; for you pay all people back for what they have done.
