Psalms 60
Open Word Bible
God, you have thrown us off and burst through our walls. You have been angry; turn to us again! You made the land shudder and tore it apart; mend its cracks, for it is giving way. You let your people see hard things; you made us drink a wine that sent us reeling. For those who fear you, you have raised a banner to rally to, out of reach of the bow. Selah So that those you love may be set free, bring rescue with your right hand and answer me! God has spoken from his holy place: “I will rejoice as I share out Shechem and mark off the Valley of Succoth. Gilead belongs to me, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is the helmet on my head, Judah the staff of my rule. Moab is my washing bowl; on Edom I toss my sandal; Philistia, raise your shout to me!” Who will take me into the walled city? Who will guide me all the way to Edom? Is it not you, God, who rejected us and no longer march out with our armies? Help us against the enemy, for any rescue that people can bring is useless. With God on our side we will fight with courage; he is the one who will crush our foes underfoot.
