Psalms 25

Open Word Bible

Of David. To you, LORD, I lift up my whole self. My God, I trust in you; do not let me be disgraced, and do not let my enemies gloat over me. Indeed, everyone who waits for you will be spared disgrace; it is those who betray others for nothing who will be disgraced. LORD, let me come to know your ways; teach me to follow your paths. Lead me by your faithfulness and teach me, since you are the God who saves me; it is you I wait for the whole day through. LORD, keep in mind your tender mercies and your acts of loyal love; they have been yours since ancient times. Do not hold against me the sins of my youth or my acts of rebellion; in your loyal love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, LORD. The LORD is good and upright; that is why he shows sinners the way to go. He directs the lowly in what is just, and to the lowly he teaches his way. Every path the LORD takes is loyal love and faithfulness toward all who hold to his covenant and his decrees. LORD, for the honor of your name, forgive the wrong I have done, because it is so great. Is there anyone who fears the LORD? He will show that person which way to choose. They will live their lives in well-being, and their descendants will possess the land. The LORD takes those who fear him into his confidence; he lets them know his covenant. I never stop looking to the LORD, because he will pull my feet free of the net. Turn toward me and show me grace, for I am lonely and in misery. The troubles in my heart have grown larger and larger; rescue me from the tight places I am in. See my misery and my toil, and lift the weight of all my sins from me. Look how my enemies have multiplied, and how violent is the hatred they hold against me. Keep my life safe and set me free; do not let me be disgraced, for I have made you my refuge. May integrity and uprightness stand guard over me, for I wait for you. God, set Israel free from all its troubles.
