Psalms 122
Open Word Bible
A song of ascents. Of David. I was full of joy when they said to me, “Come, let us set out for the house of the LORD!” Now here we are, standing inside your gates, Jerusalem! Jerusalem, built as a city whose buildings are joined close together, where the tribes make their way up, the tribes that belong to the LORD, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. For there the seats of justice are placed, the royal thrones of David’s family. Pray that Jerusalem will have peace: “May all who love you live at ease. Let your walls be at peace and your strongholds be secure.” For the sake of my brothers and sisters and my friends I will say, “May peace be inside you!” Because the house of the LORD our God is here, I will work for what is good for you.
