Psalms 146

Praise the LORD! My soul, praise the LORD! All my life I will praise the LORD; as long as I exist I will make music for my God. Do not rely on rulers, on mere mortals, who have no power to rescue. Their breath leaves them and they go back to the soil they came from; that same day all they had planned is gone. How blessed are those who have the God of Jacob to help them, whose hope rests on the LORD their God! who made heaven and earth and the sea with all they contain, who remains true forever, who brings justice to the oppressed and provides bread for the hungry. The LORD releases the prisoners; The LORD makes the blind see; the LORD raises up those bent low; the LORD loves people who are righteous; The LORD protects the foreigners living in the land; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but he overturns the way of the wicked. The LORD will rule as King forever; Zion, your God will reign from one generation to the next. Praise the LORD!
