Psalms 115
Open Word Bible
Do not give us the glory, LORD, do not give it to us. Give it to your name, for the sake of your loyal love and your faithfulness. Why should the nations be allowed to say, “So where is their God?” Yet our God is in the heavens, and whatever he wills, he does. Their idols are made of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. They have a mouth, yet say nothing; they have eyes, yet see nothing. They have ears, yet hear nothing; they have a nose, yet smell nothing. They have hands, yet feel nothing; feet, yet never walk; no sound comes from their throats. The people who make them will end up like them, and so will everyone who relies on them. People of Israel, put your trust in the LORD! He is the one who helps them and shields them. House of Aaron, put your trust in the LORD! He is the one who helps them and shields them. You who fear the LORD, put your trust in the LORD! He is the one who helps them and shields them. The LORD has kept us in mind, and he will bless: he will bless the people of Israel, he will bless the family of Aaron. He will bless all who fear the LORD, the least of them and the greatest alike. May the LORD make you grow in number, you and your children too. You are blessed by the LORD, the one who made the heavens and the earth. The heavens are the LORD’s own heavens; the earth he has handed over to humankind. The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who sink down into the silence. As for us, we will bless the LORD now and for all time to come. Praise the LORD!
