Psalms 56
Open Word Bible
God, show me grace, for people trample on me; all day long they fight me and press me hard. My enemies hound me all day long; many are fighting against me in their arrogance. On the day fear strikes, I will rely on you. With God I celebrate his promise; in God I have put my trust and will not be afraid. What can mere flesh do to me? All day long they twist what I say; every plan they make is for my harm. They band together and hide; they watch my every step, eager to take my life. Will they get away with such wickedness? God, in anger throw down the nations. You yourself have kept count of my wanderings; store my tears in your flask. Are they not already in your record? When I call for help, my enemies will retreat; this much I know, God is on my side. In God, whose promise I celebrate, in the LORD, whose promise I celebrate, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can a mere human do to me? God, I am bound by the vows I made to you; I will pay them with offerings of thanks to you. For you have rescued me from death and kept my feet from slipping, so that I can walk with God in the light of the living.
