Psalms 124
Open Word Bible
A song of ascents. Of David. Let Israel say it now: if the LORD had not stood with us, if the LORD had not stood with us when people rose up against us, then they would have devoured us alive in the heat of their anger against us, then the floodwaters would have carried us off, a torrent would have rushed over us, then the raging waters would have closed over us. Blessed be the LORD! He did not give us up to be torn apart by their teeth. We have slipped free like a bird from the bird-catchers’ trap; the trap is broken, and we are free! We find our help in the name of the LORD, the one who made heaven and earth.
