Psalms 103

Open Word Bible

Of David. Bless the LORD, my soul; let all that is deep within me bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, my soul, and never forget all that he has done for you, who pardons all your wrongdoing, who cures every illness you have, who ransoms your life from the grave, who makes loyal love and compassion your crown, who fills your life with good things, so that you are made young again like the eagle. The LORD acts to set things right and gives justice to all who are crushed by others. He let Moses know his ways and let the people of Israel see what he could do. Tender and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, rich in loyal love. He does not keep bringing charges, and he does not hold on to anger for all time. He has not treated us as our sins called for, nor paid us back in full for our wrongs. As far as the sky towers over the earth, so mighty is his loyal love over all who fear him. As distant as sunrise is from sunset, so distant has he set our rebellious acts from us. Just as a father feels for his children, the LORD feels tender love for all who fear him. For he knows what we are made of; he does not forget that we are only dust. Mortals have days like grass; they bloom like a flower in the open field, a wind blows across it and it has vanished; its own place will not know it again. But the loyal love of the LORD lasts from age to age on all who fear him, while his righteousness reaches their children’s children, for all who hold to his covenant and are careful to carry out what he commands. The LORD has fixed his throne in heaven; his royal power reigns over all there is. Bless the LORD, you angels of his, strong warriors who carry out what he says and listen for the sound of his word. Bless the LORD, all his armies, his attendants who carry out what he wants. Bless the LORD, all that he has made, everywhere under his rule. Bless the LORD, my soul.
