Psalms 108
Open Word Bible
My heart is firm, God; I will sing and play songs of praise with all my soul. Come awake, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn. LORD, I will thank you before all peoples; I will sing your praise in every nation. For your loyal love towers above the heavens, and your faithfulness rises to the clouds. God, be lifted high above the heavens; let your glory spread over all the earth. So that those you love may be set free, bring rescue with your right hand and answer me! God has spoken from his holy place: “I will rejoice as I share out Shechem and mark off the Valley of Succoth. Gilead belongs to me, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is the helmet on my head, Judah the staff of my rule. Moab is my washing bowl; on Edom I toss my sandal; I raise the victor’s shout over Philistia!” Who will take me into the walled city? Who will guide me all the way to Edom? Is it not you, God, who rejected us and no longer march out with our armies? Help us against the enemy, for any rescue that people can bring is useless. With God on our side we will fight with courage; he is the one who will crush our foes underfoot.
