I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is God’s own power at work to save everyone who believes, the Jew first and the Greek as well.

The wages sin pays are death, but God’s free gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

It is not the result of what anyone has done, so there is no room for anyone to boast.

“The Spirit of the Lord rests on me, for he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce freedom to the captives and sight to the blind, to set the downtrodden free,

But he answered me, “My grace is enough for you, for power comes to its fullness in weakness.” So I will be all the happier to boast of my weaknesses, for then the power of Christ may spread its tent over me.

From his fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

Yet they are declared righteous as a free gift, by his grace, through the redemption found in Christ Jesus.

so that through the ages still to come he might put on display the wealth of his grace, which surpasses all measure, seen in the kindness he has shown us in Christ Jesus.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, righteous and godly lives in this present age,

We were enemies of God when the death of his Son reconciled us to him. Now that we are reconciled, it is all the more certain that we will be saved by the Son’s life.

the mystery that was kept hidden through all past ages and generations but has now been revealed to his holy people.

If you declare with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and in your heart believe that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless someone is born from above, they cannot see the kingdom of God.”

So if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of a new creation. The old things have gone, and look, new things have come into being.

For God’s love for the world was such that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life.

For it is by this grace that you have been saved, through faith. None of this comes from you; it is God’s gift.

Truly, truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes the one who sent me has eternal life. Such a person does not come under condemnation, but has already moved out of death into life.

Repent, then, and turn around, so that your sins may be erased,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous: he will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every kind of wrongdoing.

I made my sin known to you; I did not hide my wrongdoing. I said, “I will own my rebellion before the LORD,” and you took away my sin and its guilt. Selah

Tear your hearts, not your clothes, and turn back to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and full of tender compassion, slow to grow angry and rich in loyal love, and he relents from sending disaster.

Come, let us take this matter to court together, says the LORD. Your sins may be scarlet, yet they will turn white as snow; though they are as red as crimson dye, they will be like undyed wool.

God, create a pure heart for me, and make my spirit new and steady inside me.

Grief that follows God’s way produces repentance that leads to salvation, a repentance no one will ever regret. But grief that follows the world’s way produces death.

As distant as sunrise is from sunset, so distant has he set our rebellious acts from us.

“For I will show mercy to their wrongdoing, and their sins I will never again call to mind.”

“Come, let us return to the LORD. It is he who has torn us, and he will heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bandage our wounds.

So now that we have been declared righteous by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ had never known sin, yet for our sake God made him to be sin, so that, united with him, we might become God’s righteousness.

to redeem those who lived under the law, so that we might be adopted as children.

But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

If we are children, we are also heirs. We are God’s heirs, and we inherit alongside Christ, if we suffer together with him so that we will also be glorified together with him.

For we are convinced that a person is declared righteous by faith, apart from works of the law.

So then, those who are in Christ Jesus now face no sentence of condemnation.

But to someone who does no work, yet believes in the God who declares the ungodly righteous, that faith is counted as righteousness.

and be found in him, with no righteousness of my own from keeping the law, but with the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ: righteousness from God, resting on faith.

What you received was not a spirit of slavery that would put you back under fear. You received the Spirit of adoption as children, and in the Spirit we call out, “Abba, Father!”

Who will bring any accusation against those God has chosen? God is the one who declares them righteous.

If death reigned through one man because of that one man’s trespass, it is far more certain that those who receive grace in full measure and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
