14 Bible Verses About Heirs with Christ

So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if you are a child, then you are also an heir, made so by God.

so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

The Spirit himself joins our own spirit in testifying that we are God’s children. If we are children, we are also heirs. We are God’s heirs, and we inherit alongside Christ, if we suffer together with him so that we will also be glorified together with him.

In him we too have been claimed as God’s own portion. We were marked out for this beforehand by the purpose of God, who works out everything as his will determines,

And if you belong to Christ, it follows that you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs in keeping with the promise.

and into an inheritance that can never decay, never be stained, and never wither. That inheritance is kept safe in heaven for you,

and give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of God’s holy people in the light.

The Spirit is the down payment on our inheritance, until God redeems those who are his own possession, so that his glory will be praised.

Here is what I mean. While the heir is still a child, his position is no better than a slave’s, even though he is master of everything. Guardians and managers have charge of him until the date his father has set.

God did not hold back even his own Son, but handed him over for us all. How could he fail, then, to give us everything along with him as a free gift?

This is why he mediates a new covenant: a death has taken place to set people free from the offenses committed under the first covenant, and so those who are called may receive what was promised, the eternal inheritance.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters. Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world’s eyes to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised to those who love him?

This is the mystery: through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
