The Word became flesh and made his home among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

For all the fullness of God’s own being dwells in him bodily,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

“See, the virgin will become pregnant and have a son, and people will call him Immanuel.” The name means “God is with us.”

These, though, are written down so that you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing have life in his name.

The Son is the image of the unseen God, the firstborn who stands above all creation.

For in him everything in heaven and on earth was created, the seen and the unseen, whether thrones or dominions, rulers or authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact stamp of his being, and he bears all things along by his word of power. Having made cleansing for sins through himself, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Those who come to me will never be hungry, and those who believe in me will never at any time be thirsty.

Jesus spoke to them once more: “I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will never walk in the darkness; they will have the light of life.”

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

and you killed the Author of life. God raised him from the dead; we are witnesses to that.

Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Only through me does anyone come to the Father.

To those on the way to destruction, the message of the cross is foolishness; but to us who are being saved, it is God’s power.

For you know the price of your release from the useless way of living you inherited from your forefathers. That price was not silver or gold, things that decay, but the precious blood of Christ, who was like a lamb without flaw or stain.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, there is the Lamb of God, who carries away the sin of the world!

how much more will the blood of Christ wash our conscience clean of dead works, so that we may worship the living God! Through the eternal Spirit he offered himself to God, a sacrifice without flaw.

In him and through his blood we have redemption, the forgiveness of our wrongdoing. We have it because God’s grace is so rich,

When Jesus had taken the sour wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and handed over his spirit.

But it was for our rebellions that he was pierced through, for our guilt that he was crushed. On him fell the discipline that won our peace, and his welts have brought us healing.

He was despised and shunned by everyone, a man of pains, no stranger to sickness. People turned their faces away from him; he was despised, and we counted him as nothing.

And all of it is God’s doing. Through Christ he has reconciled us to himself, and he has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

God put him forward as the means of atonement, by his blood, to be received through faith. He did this to show his righteousness, since he had passed over the sins committed before,

I am no longer the one who lives; Christ lives in me. Whatever life I still have in the flesh is a life lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and handed himself over for my sake.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse on our behalf, for it is written, “A curse is on everyone who is hung on a tree.”

But as it is, Christ has been raised from the dead: he is the firstfruits of those who have died.

He is not here; he has been raised. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee.

Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?

You have been raised with Christ, then. So seek what is above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

and now it has been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

and the one who lives. I was dead, and see, I am alive for all the ages to come, and the keys of death and Hades are mine.

But each has a set place in the sequence: first Christ, the firstfruits; after that, at his coming, the people who are his.

I want to know him, to know the power of his resurrection and what it is to share in his sufferings, as I am being shaped into the likeness of his death,

So through baptism we were buried with him into death, in order that, as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live a life that is new.

In a short time the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live, you too will live.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even if they die, will live,

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

We have, then, a great high priest who has gone through the heavens: Jesus the Son of God. So let us keep a firm grip on the confession we make.

On his robe and on his thigh is written a name: King of kings and Lord of lords.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, Christ Jesus, himself human,

That is why God has exalted him far above all and freely given him the name that is above every name, so that every knee will bend before the name of Jesus, in heaven, on earth and below the earth, and every tongue will openly declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, bringing glory to God the Father.

Salvation comes through no one but him. Under all of heaven God has given humankind no other name through which we are to be saved.”

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. Yet if anyone does sin, we have an advocate in the Father’s presence, Jesus Christ, who is righteous.

May the God of peace, who led our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, up from the dead through the blood of an eternal covenant,

which he put to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

For this reason he is able to save completely those who approach God through him, since he is always alive to plead on their behalf.

You have been built on the apostles and prophets as your foundation, and the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

He is also the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the first to be born from among the dead, so that he would come to hold first place in everything.

So if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of a new creation. The old things have gone, and look, new things have come into being.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me remaining in them, is the one who bears much fruit, because you can do nothing apart from me.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. In the same way, you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me.

God chose to make known to them how rich and glorious this mystery is among the Gentiles. The mystery is this: Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Then he said to everyone, “Anyone who wants to come after me must say no to themselves, pick up their cross every day, and keep following me.

For you died, and the life you now have lies hidden with Christ in God.

But anyone who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.

This is how my Father is glorified: that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ like clothing, and do not make plans to satisfy the desires of the flesh.

even when we were dead in our trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ. You have been saved by grace.

I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.

and in him you have been made full. He is the head over every ruler and authority.
