The Person of Christ
Jesus is fully God and fully man — the eternal Word, the image of the invisible God, Immanuel, God with us. He is the bread of life, the light of the world, the way, the truth, and the life. These verses behold who Christ is in his glory.
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel”; which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.
His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
