Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for, the proof of realities we do not see.

Trust the LORD with your whole heart, and do not rely on your own insight. Keep him in mind in everything you do, and he will clear a straight road ahead of you.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me remaining in them, is the one who bears much fruit, because you can do nothing apart from me.

Of this I am convinced: the one who started a good work in you will keep working at it until it is finished on the day of Christ Jesus.

for we make our way by faith, not by sight.

Then he said, “Truly I tell you, if you do not turn around and become like children, you will not get into the kingdom of heaven at all.

It is the same with faith: if it has no works, it is dead in itself.

In every situation take up faith as your shield; with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows of the evil one.

He told them, “It is because your faith is so small. Truly I tell you, if you have faith even the size of a mustard seed, you can tell this mountain, ‘Go from here to over there,’ and it will go. There will be nothing you cannot do.”

Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have believed without having seen.”

So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Look at the proud one: his desires are not upright within him; but the righteous will live by their faithfulness.

The apostles said to the Lord, “Give us more faith!”

May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace of every kind as you believe, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you overflow with hope.

I have written these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life—you who believe in the name of the Son of God.

while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This hope is ours as an anchor for the soul, one that holds safe and firm and reaches into the inner place behind the curtain.

However many promises God has made, in him each one is “Yes.” So it is through him too that we answer God with “Amen,” and God is given glory through us.

And hope does not leave us ashamed, for God has given us the Holy Spirit, and through the Spirit his love has flooded our hearts.

Why are you bent so low, my soul? Why this unrest inside me? Wait for God in hope; I will give him thanks again, for the rescue that comes from his presence.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.

and God’s power is keeping you under guard through faith until the salvation that stands ready to be revealed at the last time.

But those who wait for the LORD will take on fresh strength. They will climb high on outspread wings like eagles. They will run and not wear out; they will walk and not tire.

and into an inheritance that can never decay, never be stained, and never wither. That inheritance is kept safe in heaven for you,

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

If you love me, you will keep the commandments I have given you.

So, brothers and sisters, I appeal to you by the mercies of God: offer your bodies to God as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to him. That is your reasonable worship.

So place yourselves under God. Stand against the devil, and he will run from you.

If any of you planned to build a tower, would you not sit down first and add up the expense, to find out whether you could afford to finish it?

Then Jesus told his disciples, “Anyone who wishes to come after me must say no to self, pick up their cross, and follow me.

Not everyone who calls me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants.

Samuel said, “Is the LORD as pleased with burnt offerings and sacrifices as with obeying the voice of the LORD? See, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to pay heed is better than the fat of rams.

“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Yet let your will be done, not mine.”

Jesus answered him, “’Love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole soul, and with your whole mind.’

And now, Israel, what is it that the LORD your God asks of you? Just this: that you fear the LORD your God, follow all his ways and love him, and that you serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Be people who carry out the word, not just people who hear it. Otherwise you are fooling yourselves.

His mother said to the servants, “Do as he tells you, whatever it is.”

This is God’s will for you: that you be holy. Keep away from sexual immorality.

Instead, keep growing in the grace that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and in knowing him. May glory be his, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

But all of us, our faces uncovered, look upon the Lord’s glory as in a mirror, and we are being changed into the same image we see, from glory to ever greater glory. That is how the Lord, who is the Spirit, works.

So let us leave behind the first message about Christ and be carried forward to maturity. Let us not be laying a foundation all over again: turning away from dead works and putting faith in God,

Go, then, and make disciples of all the nations: baptize them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Do not let this present age press you into its mold, but be changed through and through as your mind is made new. Then you will be able to test and recognize the will of God: what is good and pleasing and perfect.

and I run straight for the goal to win the prize promised by God’s upward call in Christ Jesus.

At the time it is given, no discipline seems a matter for joy; it seems a matter for sorrow. But afterward it pays back those who have been trained by it with a harvest of peace: righteousness.

Milk was what I gave you to drink, not solid food, since you could not yet take it. In fact, even now you still cannot take it,

and have put on the new self, which is being made new, growing in knowledge, in the image of its Creator.

Those God knew beforehand he also marked out beforehand to be shaped into the image of his Son, so that the Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

So then, my beloved, you have always obeyed. Keep at it now, not only as if I were there with you, but much more because I am away: with fear and trembling, keep working out your own salvation.

Blessed is anyone who endures through trial. When they have been proved genuine, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

So then, since we too have so vast a cloud of witnesses all around us, let us strip off every burden, and the sin that wraps itself around us so readily, and let us run the race laid out ahead of us, and run it with endurance.

So then, my dear brothers and sisters, be firm and unshakable, always doing more and more in the work of the Lord, since you know that in the Lord your hard work is never wasted.

Let your hope keep you rejoicing; hold out under trouble; keep at prayer.

So then, since we too have so vast a cloud of witnesses all around us, let us strip off every burden, and the sin that wraps itself around us so readily, and let us run the race laid out ahead of us, and run it with endurance. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer who leads the way in faith and brings it to perfection. For the sake of the joy that lay ahead of him, he endured a cross and counted its shame as nothing, and he has taken his seat at the right hand of God’s throne.

Someone who is faithful in the smallest matter is faithful in large matters too, and someone who is dishonest in the smallest matter is dishonest in large matters too.

We must not tire of doing good. When the right time comes we will bring in the harvest, as long as we do not slacken.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

For this reason, take up God’s complete armor. Then you will be able to resist on the evil day and, having carried everything through, remain standing.

Now what is looked for in household managers is this: that each one proves trustworthy.

Let us cling to the confession of our hope without bending, for the one who made the promise is faithful.

Have no fear of anything you are going to suffer. Look: some of you the devil is about to throw into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will face affliction for ten days. Stay faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life.
