Spiritual Growth & Sanctification

God is making his people holy, conforming us to the image of his Son day by day. Growth comes as we abide in him, feed on his Word, and yield to his Spirit. These verses nourish a steady, lifelong maturing in Christ.

Sanctification — 1 Thessalonians 4:3

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,

Spiritual Growth — 2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Transformation — 2 Corinthians 3:18

But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Maturity — Hebrews 6:1

Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,

Discipleship — Matthew 28:19

Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Renewal — Romans 12:2

Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Pressing On — Philippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Trained by Discipline — Hebrews 12:11

All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby.

Milk to Solid Food — 1 Corinthians 3:2

I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready,

Putting On the New Self — Colossians 3:10

and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

Conformed to His Image — Romans 8:29

For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Work Out Your Salvation — Philippians 2:12
