For everything in the world—the cravings of human nature, the greed of the eyes, and arrogant pride in what one has—does not come from the Father but comes from the world.

I made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look with desire at a young woman?

Get away from sexual immorality! Whatever other sin someone commits stays outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against their very own body.

This is what I mean: walk by the Spirit, and you will never carry out what the flesh desires.

This is God’s will for you: that you be holy. Keep away from sexual immorality. Each of you should know how to keep your own body under control, with holiness and respect, not in lustful passion like the Gentiles, who do not know God.

Run away from the passions of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, together with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ like clothing, and do not make plans to satisfy the desires of the flesh.

So put to death whatever in you belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

Do not let your heart crave her beauty, and do not let her catch you with her glances,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, righteous and godly lives in this present age,

Dear friends, you live here as outsiders and temporary residents. So I urge you to keep away from the cravings of the flesh, for they fight against your soul.

So do not let sin reign as king in your mortal body, making you obey its desires.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives, the Spirit who is in you and whom God has given you? You do not belong to yourselves. You were bought, and a price was paid for you. So bring glory to God in your body.
