Titus 2

Open Word Bible

But you must teach what fits with sound teaching. Teach the older men to be clear-headed, worthy of respect and self-controlled, and to be sound in faith, in love and in endurance.

In the same way, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not be slanderers or slaves to much wine, but must teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to work at home, to be kind, and to submit to their own husbands, so that no one will speak evil of the word of God.

In the same way, encourage the younger men to be self-controlled. In every way set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity and seriousness, and sound speech that cannot be criticized, so that anyone who opposes you will be ashamed, because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Teach slaves to submit to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back or steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, righteous and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us to set us free from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people that belongs to him, eager to do what is good.

Teach these things. Encourage and rebuke with full authority. Do not let anyone look down on you.
