Bible Verses About Who God Is

This is where love is found: not in our having loved God, but in his loving us and sending his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

It is by the LORD’s loyal love that we have not been wiped out, for his mercies have not failed. They are new each morning; how great is your faithfulness!

But God is rich in mercy. Because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ. You have been saved by grace.

For it is by this grace that you have been saved, through faith. None of this comes from you; it is God’s gift. It is not the result of what anyone has done, so there is no room for anyone to boast.

Taste and see how good the LORD is! How blessed is the person who makes him their refuge!

Just as a father feels for his children, the LORD feels tender love for all who fear him.

So he set off and went back to his father. His father caught sight of him while he was still far away, and his heart went out to him. He ran to meet him, embraced him and kissed him warmly.

And my God will fill every need you have, in keeping with his glorious wealth in Christ Jesus.

The LORD is close to everyone who calls to him, to all who call to him sincerely.

Tender and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, rich in loyal love.

From far away the LORD appeared to me: I have loved you with an everlasting love, so I have kept on showing you loyal love.

Abraham named that place “The LORD Will See to It.” That is why people still say today, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be seen to.”

The one who does not love has never known God, for God is love.

We know that, for people who love God, all things work together and lead to good. They are the ones called in keeping with his purpose.

People plot their course in their minds, but it is the LORD who guides their steps.

For our God really is a consuming fire.

Acknowledge the glory that belongs to the name of the LORD; bow before the LORD in holy splendor.

Bow low before the LORD in holy splendor; tremble in his presence, all the earth.
