The LORD has fixed his throne in heaven; his royal power reigns over all there is.
God now rules as King over the nations; upon his holy throne God sits.
All the people of the earth count as nothing before him; he does as he pleases with the armies of heaven and with the people of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”
To you, LORD, belong the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty; indeed everything in heaven and on earth is yours. The kingdom is yours, LORD, and you are lifted high as head over all. Riches and honor come from you; you rule over everything. In your hand are power and might, and it is in your hand to make anyone great and to give strength to all.
For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and he governs the nations.
Yet our God is in the heavens, and whatever he wills, he does.
At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I blessed the Most High; I praised and honored the one who lives forever. His rule is an everlasting rule, and his kingdom lasts through every generation.
Tell the nations, “The LORD is King! The world stands firm; nothing can make it totter. He will judge the peoples fairly.”
The nations are no more than a drop falling from a bucket; they count as the dust left on a scale. He lifts up the coastlands like fine powder.
Your kingdom is a kingdom for all the ages, and your rule lasts through every generation.
In him we too have been claimed as God’s own portion. We were marked out for this beforehand by the purpose of God, who works out everything as his will determines,
