I have weighed it up: what we suffer in this present time does not begin to balance the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

My brothers and sisters, whenever you find yourselves in trials of every sort, regard it as a reason for great joy, because you know that the testing your faith goes through produces endurance.

Our troubles are light and last only a moment, and they are bringing about for us an eternal glory, weighty beyond all measure.

Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; rescue me, and I will be safe; for you are the one I praise.

Is anyone among you ill? That person should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over the sick person and anoint the sick person with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer made in faith will save the one who is ill, and the Lord will raise them up. And if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.

But he answered me, “My grace is enough for you, for power comes to its fullness in weakness.” So I will be all the happier to boast of my weaknesses, for then the power of Christ may spread its tent over me.

Even if my path goes down through a valley of deepest darkness, I will not be afraid of any harm, because you are there with me; your rod and your staff give me courage.

Hand over to the LORD whatever weighs on you, and he will hold you up; never will he allow the righteous to stumble and fall.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

They come so that your faith, once tested and shown to be genuine, may be found to bring praise and glory and honor at the time Jesus Christ is revealed. Faith like that is worth far more than gold, and gold perishes, even though it too is tested by fire.

He heals those whose hearts are crushed and bandages their injuries.

Do this by throwing every worry you have onto him, because you matter to him.

Our fight is not with flesh and blood. It is with the rulers, with the authorities, with the world rulers of this darkness, with the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Clothe yourselves in God’s complete armor, so that you can hold your ground against the devil’s cunning plans.

God is a shelter and a strength for us, a help always close at hand in times of distress.

Whoever makes a home under the cover of the Most High will spend the night in the shade of the Almighty. This is what I say about the LORD: “He is my shelter and my stronghold, my God, the one I rely on.”

When the righteous cry out, the LORD listens and frees them from every trouble they face.

The LORD is my strength, the shield that protects me; my heart trusted in him, and help came to me. Now my heart is full of joy, and I will thank him in song.

As for you, dear children, you belong to God, and you have already won the victory over them, because the one in you is greater than the one in the world.

Receive salvation as your helmet, and the sword that the Spirit gives, which is the word of God.

Not one weapon shaped to harm you will succeed, and every tongue that accuses you in court you will prove wrong. This is the share that belongs to the servants of the LORD; their righteousness comes from me, declares the LORD.

He will spread his feathers over you, and beneath his wings you will find shelter. His faithfulness surrounds you like a shield and a wall.

But thanks be to God, for through our Lord Jesus Christ he gives us the victory.

Stand up to him and hold firm in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are enduring these same sufferings.

Go, then, and make disciples of all the nations: baptize them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to keep everything I have commanded you. And remember this: I myself am with you every day, until the close of the age.”

He told them, “Go out into the whole world and announce the gospel to all of creation.

Tell the nations of his glory, and all the peoples of the wonders he has done.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is large, but there are few workers. So pray to the Lord of the harvest, and ask him to send out workers into his harvest.”

But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power, and you will bear witness to me in Jerusalem, through all Judea and Samaria, and out to the farthest end of the earth.”

But Jesus would not let him, and told him instead, “Go home to your own people, and let them know all that the Lord has done for you, and the mercy he has shown you.”

Now, Lord, take notice of their threats. Let your slaves speak your word with complete boldness,

After this I looked, and I saw a crowd so vast that no one could number it. They came from every nation and from all tribes and peoples and languages, and they stood before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

And how are people to proclaim it unless they are sent? As it is written, “How lovely are the feet of those who bring the good news of good things!”

How, then, are they to call on him if they have not believed in him? And how are they to believe in him if they have never heard him? And how are they to hear without someone proclaiming?

he says: “It is not enough that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and bring home the survivors of Israel. I will make you a light for the nations as well, so that you may be my salvation to the farthest edge of the earth.”

Instead, in your hearts set Christ apart as the holy Lord. Be ready at all times to make your defense to anyone who asks you for the reason behind the hope you hold.

He told them, “There is a great harvest, but only a few workers. So plead with the Lord of the harvest to send workers out to bring in his harvest.

It is the love of Christ that drives us on. We have reached this judgment: one has died on behalf of all, and so all have died.

There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise I would have told you, for I am going to prepare a place for you. And when I have gone and prepared a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, so that you also may be where I am.

Above all, seek the kingdom and his righteousness, and you will be given all these things as well.

“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why stand there gazing up at the sky? This Jesus has been taken up from you into heaven, and he will come in the very way you saw him leave for heaven.”

For all of us must be laid open before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what matches the things done in the body, whether good or worthless.

And the one who sits on the throne said, “See, I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write it down, because these words can be trusted, and they are true.”

If what someone has built on the foundation survives, that builder will receive a reward.

Those the LORD has ransomed will come back; they will enter Zion with glad shouts, with joy that never ends resting on their heads. Delight and gladness will catch up with them, and grief and groaning will run away.

Every tear he will wipe from their eyes. Death will be no more, and no more mourning, no crying, no pain. The former things have gone.”

And the holy city, the new Jerusalem, I saw descending out of heaven from God, ready like a bride who has adorned herself for her husband.

Now there is waiting for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Dear friends, we are children of God now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he truly is.

If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

And when I have gone and prepared a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, so that you also may be where I am.

Then those of us still living, who are left, will be swept up with them into the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. From then on we will be with the Lord always.
