Numbers 34

1The LORD spoke to Moses. He said, 2“Give the Israelites this command and tell them: ‘You are about to enter the land of Canaan. Here is the land that will fall to you as your inheritance, the land of Canaan with these borders: 3Your southern side will take in the wilderness of Zin, alongside Edom. On the east, your southern border will start at the end of the Dead Sea. 4From there your border will turn and run south of the Ascent of Akrabbim and on to Zin, reaching as far as the south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go out to Hazar-addar and on to Azmon. 5From Azmon the border will bend around to the Wadi of Egypt and end at the sea. 6Your western border will be the Great Sea and its coast. That will be your border on the west. 7This will be your northern border: from the Great Sea mark out a line to Mount Hor. 8From Mount Hor mark it out to Lebo-hamath, and the border will reach out to Zedad. 9The border will continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar-enan. This will be your northern border. 10For your eastern border, mark out a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham. 11From Shepham the border will go down to Riblah, on the east side of Ain, and on down until it meets the slopes east of the Sea of Chinnereth. 12Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. This will be your land, with its borders on every side.’” 13Moses gave the Israelites this command: “This is the land you are to divide among yourselves by lot as your inheritance. The LORD has commanded that it be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe. 14For the tribe of the Reubenites and the tribe of the Gadites, by their ancestral families, have already received their inheritance, and so has the half-tribe of Manasseh. 15These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance across the Jordan from Jericho, on the east, toward the sunrise.”

16The LORD spoke to Moses. He said, 17“These are the names of the men who are to divide the land among you as your inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. 18You are also to take one leader from every tribe to divide up the land. 19These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh, 20from the tribe of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud, 21from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon, 22from the tribe of Dan, the leader Bukki son of Jogli, 23from the descendants of Joseph: from the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod, 24from the tribe of Ephraim, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan, 25from the tribe of Zebulun, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach, 26from the tribe of Issachar, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan, 27from the tribe of Asher, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi, 28and from the tribe of Naphtali, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.” 29These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance among the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
