Job 40
Open Word Bible
Then the LORD answered Job: Will the one who finds fault contend with the Almighty? Let the one who argues against God give an answer.
Then Job answered the LORD: I am so small; how can I answer you? I put my hand over my mouth. I have spoken once, and I will not reply; twice, and I will say no more.
Then the LORD answered Job from the storm: Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you will tell me the answers. Would you really set aside my justice? Would you condemn me to prove that you are right? Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like his? Then put on majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with splendor and glory. Unleash the fury of your anger; look at all who are proud and bring them down. Look at all who are proud and humble them; crush the wicked where they stand. Bury them all together in the dust; shroud their faces in the hidden place. Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you. Look at Behemoth, which I made just as I made you; it eats grass like an ox. See the strength in its hips, the power in the muscles of its belly! Its tail stiffens like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are tightly woven. Its bones are pipes of bronze, its limbs like bars of iron. It is the first of the works of God; only its Maker can come near it with his sword. The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby. It lies under the lotus plants, hidden among the reeds of the marsh. The lotus bushes cover it with their shade; the poplars by the stream surround it. Even when the river surges, it is not alarmed; it stays calm though the Jordan rushes against its mouth. Can anyone capture it while it is watching, or pierce its nose with a snare?
