Job 26
Open Word Bible
Then Job answered: How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the arm that has no strength! How you have advised one who lacks wisdom, and shown such a wealth of insight! With whose help have you uttered these words? Whose spirit has spoken through you? The spirits of the dead tremble, those beneath the waters and all who live there. Sheol lies naked before him; Abaddon has no covering. He stretches out the northern sky over empty space; he hangs the earth on nothing. He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He veils the face of his throne, spreading his cloud over it. He has marked out a circle on the face of the waters as a boundary between light and darkness. The pillars of heaven tremble and are stunned at his rebuke. By his power he stirred up the sea; by his skill he struck Rahab down. By his breath the skies became clear; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. Look, these are only the outer edges of his ways; how faint the whisper we hear of him! But the thunder of his power, who can understand it?
