Revelation 20
Open Word Bible
Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key to the abyss and a heavy chain in his hand. He took hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and chained him up for a thousand years. Into the abyss he threw him, shutting it and setting a seal over him, so that he would deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were over. After that he must be let loose for a short time.
I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given the right to judge. I saw too the souls of those beheaded for holding to the testimony of Jesus and the word of God, those who had refused to worship the beast or its image and had not let its mark be put on forehead or hand. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The other dead did not live again until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is anyone who has a share in the first resurrection! Over such people the second death has no power; they will serve as priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him a thousand years.
Once the thousand years are completed, Satan will be freed from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and to muster them for war, countless as the sand of the sea. Up they came across the whole width of the earth and encircled the camp of God’s holy people and the beloved city. Then fire fell from heaven and burned them up. Then the devil, their deceiver, was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are as well; and day and night, forever and ever, they will suffer torment.
Next I saw a great white throne, and the one who sat on it; from his face earth and sky ran away, and no place could be found for them. I saw the dead, the great and the lowly, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened, and so was another book, the book of life, and the dead were judged on the basis of what the books recorded, according to their deeds. The sea handed over its dead, and Death and Hades handed over theirs, and they were judged, every one of them, by their works. Then Death and Hades themselves were cast into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. And whoever was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
