Revelation 10
Open Word Bible
Then another mighty angel came into view, coming down from heaven. A cloud was his clothing, and the rainbow crowned his head; his face shone like the sun, his legs were like pillars of fire, and he held a small scroll, open, in his hand. Planting his right foot on the sea and his left on the land, he called out in a great voice, as a lion roars. When he had called out, the seven thunders spoke with their voices. As soon as the seven thunders had spoken, I was ready to write, but a voice from heaven told me, “Seal up the words of the seven thunders; do not write them down.” The angel I had seen standing on sea and land lifted his right hand toward heaven and took an oath by the one who lives forever and ever, the maker of heaven and everything in it, of the earth and everything in it, and of the sea and everything in it, that there would be no more delay. Instead, when the days come for the seventh angel’s trumpet, when he is about to blow it, God’s mystery will reach its completion, the good news he announced to his servants the prophets.
The voice from heaven that I had heard spoke with me once again. “Go,” it said, “and take the scroll lying open in the hand of the angel who stands on sea and land.” I went over to the angel and told him to hand me the little scroll. “Take it,” he told me, “and eat it up. It will make your stomach bitter, though in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” I took the little scroll out of the angel’s hand and ate it up. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it my stomach became bitter.
Then they said to me, “Once more you must prophesy, concerning many peoples and nations and languages and kings.”
