Proverbs
Short sayings on living wisely, skilfully and well.
About Proverbs
Proverbs gathers instruction largely associated with Solomon into a book about practical wisdom. The opening chapters are extended appeals from a father to a son, personifying wisdom as a woman calling in the street; from chapter ten the form shifts to short, pointed sayings on speech, money, work, friendship and self-control. Its proverbs are observations about how life generally goes, not guarantees, and its foundation is the fear of the Lord.
