The Fruit & Gifts of the Spirit

The Spirit grows his fruit in us — love, joy, peace, patience — and gives gifts to build up the body of Christ. Where the Spirit works, character is changed and the church is strengthened. These verses invite you to keep in step with the Spirit and serve in his power.

Fruit of the Spirit — Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Gifts of the Spirit — 1 Corinthians 12:7

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

Self-Control — Galatians 5:23

gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Spiritual Power — 2 Timothy 1:7

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Serving with Gifts — 1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.

The Anointing — 1 John 2:27

As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

Many Gifts, One Spirit — 1 Corinthians 12:4

Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

Love the Greatest Gift — 1 Corinthians 13:13

But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.

Earnestly Desire Gifts — 1 Corinthians 14:1

Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

Stir Up the Gift — 2 Timothy 1:6

For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Quench Not the Spirit — 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Don’t quench the Spirit.

One Body, Many Members — 1 Corinthians 12:12

For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.
