So husbands are bound to love their wives as their own bodies. To love one’s wife is to love oneself. Nobody has ever hated his own flesh; instead, he feeds it and looks after it, as Christ does for the church, because we are parts of his body. This is why a man will leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, and the two will be one flesh.

Both of them, the man and his wife, were naked, yet they were not ashamed.

The wife does not rule over her own body; her husband does. In the same way, the husband does not rule over his own body; his wife does.

The man who finds a wife finds something good and receives favor from the LORD.
