Isaiah 62
Open Word Bible
Because of Zion I will not be silent, and because of Jerusalem I will not keep still, until her righteousness breaks out like daybreak and her salvation burns like a torch. Nations will see your righteousness and every king your glory. You will be given a new name, one that the LORD will pronounce with his own mouth. You will be a beautiful crown held in the hand of the LORD, a king’s turban resting in the palm of your God. No one will call you Abandoned any longer, or call your land Desolation. Instead you will be named She Is My Delight, and your land Wedded, because the LORD delights in you, and your land will be taken as a bride. Your sons will take you as a young man takes a young woman in marriage; your God will be glad over you with a groom’s joy over his bride. I have stationed guards on your walls, Jerusalem; through the whole day and the whole night they will keep calling out, never silent. You who keep reminding the LORD, do not rest, and do not let him rest either, until he has made Jerusalem secure and made her a city the whole earth praises. The LORD has bound himself by oath, by his right hand and his strong arm: I will not let your enemies eat your grain any more, nor let outsiders drink the new wine you worked to make, no, the ones who reaped the grain will eat it, praising the LORD, and the ones who picked the grapes will drink the wine in the courtyards of my holy house.
Through the gates, go through! Open a road for the people! Pile it up, pile up the highway, and pick out the stones! Lift a signal flag high over the peoples! See, the LORD has announced to the farthest parts of the earth: Tell Daughter Zion, “Look, your salvation is coming! Look, he brings his prize with him; what he has won goes ahead of him.” They will be named The Holy People, Those the LORD Has Redeemed, and you will be named Sought After, The City Not Abandoned.
