1 Chronicles 2

1These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.

3The sons of Judah: Er, Onan and Shelah. Bath-shua, a Canaanite woman, was the mother of these three. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the LORD’s eyes, and he brought his life to an end.

4His daughter-in-law Tamar bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.

5The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

6The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol and Dara, five in all.

7The son of Carmi: Achar, the one who brought trouble on Israel by breaking faith over the devoted things.

8The son of Ethan: Azariah. 9The sons born to Hezron: Jerahmeel, Ram and Chelubai. 10Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, the leader of the people of Judah. 11Nahshon was the father of Salma, and Salma was the father of Boaz. 12Boaz was the father of Obed, and Obed was the father of Jesse. 13Jesse was the father of Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third, 14Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, 15Ozem the sixth and David the seventh. 16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab and Asahel, three of them. 17Abigail bore Amasa, and Amasa’s father was Jether the Ishmaelite. 18Caleb son of Hezron had children by Azubah his wife and by Jerioth. Her sons were Jesher, Shobab and Ardon. 19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, and she bore him Hur. 20Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bezalel.

21Later Hezron lay with the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he took as his wife at the age of sixty. She bore him Segub. 22Segub was the father of Jair, who had twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead. 23But Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, with Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir the father of Gilead. 24After Hezron died in Caleb-ephrathah, his wife Abijah bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa. 25The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron: Ram the firstborn, then Bunah, Oren, Ozem and Ahijah. 26Jerahmeel had another wife, named Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.

27The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin and Eker. 28The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur. 29Abishur’s wife was named Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid. 30The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died without sons.

31The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The descendant of Sheshan: Ahlai. 32The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without sons.

33The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel. 34Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. But Sheshan had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35Sheshan gave his daughter as a wife to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai. 36Attai was the father of Nathan, and Nathan was the father of Zabad. 37Zabad was the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal was the father of Obed. 38Obed was the father of Jehu, and Jehu was the father of Azariah. 39Azariah was the father of Helez, and Helez was the father of Eleasah. 40Eleasah was the father of Sismai, and Sismai was the father of Shallum. 41Shallum was the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah was the father of Elishama. 42The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron. 43The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema. 44Shema was the father of Raham the father of Jorkeam, and Rekem was the father of Shammai. 45The son of Shammai: Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth-zur. 46Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.

47The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph. 48Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah. 49She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah, and Sheva the father of Machbenah and of Gibea. Caleb’s daughter was Achsah.

50These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim, 51Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth-gader. 52Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had descendants: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites. 53The clans of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites and the Mishraites. From these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.

54The descendants of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, half of the Manahathites, and the Zorites. 55The clans of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites and the Sucathites. These were the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
