What Psalm 55:22 means
The word is *cast* — thrown, handed over, not carried a little more politely. And the promise attached is not that the burden vanishes but that you will be sustained under it.
David writes this while betrayed by a close friend, which is why it does not read as easy advice. It is what someone says who has tried carrying it alone. The last line — he will never permit the righteous to be moved — is the ground the whole verse stands on.
