I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made — your works are wonderful.

What Psalm 139:14 means
The whole psalm is about being fully known: God knows when you sit and rise, discerns your thoughts from far off, and was present while you were being formed. This verse is the response — not self-congratulation but praise directed at the maker.
“Fearfully” carries the sense of awe rather than fright. The claim is that you were made with care and intention by someone who has never once been indifferent to you. It is a steadying thing to know by heart on the days you do not like yourself much.
