Romans 8:38-39
Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What Romans 8:38-39 means
Paul builds a list designed to be exhaustive — death and life, angels and rulers, present and future, height and depth. Then he closes the gap entirely: nor anything else in all creation.
This is the climax of Romans 8, arriving after a chapter about suffering and groaning. The security described is not that hard things will not happen but that none of them can reach the love holding you. Worth memorising in full, list and all, because the sweep is the point.
