And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, and one of you tells them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled”; and yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?

But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.

Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
