Romans 16

Open Word Bible

I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to welcome her in the Lord in the way God’s holy people should, and to stand by her in anything she may need from you. She has been a patron to many, and to me as well.

Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. They put their own necks on the line for my life, and it is not only I who thank them: all the churches of the Gentiles do too. Greet also the church that meets in their house. Greet my dear friend Epaenetus, the first of the harvest for Christ in Asia. Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews, who were in prison with me. They are prominent among the apostles, and they were in Christ earlier than I was. Greet Ampliatus, whom I love in the Lord. Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys. Greet Apelles, who has been tested and found true in Christ. Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus. Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who belong to the Lord. Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, women who work hard in the Lord. Greet dear Persis, who has worked hard in the Lord. Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and greet his mother, who has also been a mother to me. Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters who are with them. Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all God’s holy people who are with them.

Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send you greetings.

Brothers and sisters, I urge you to keep an eye on those who stir up divisions and put stumbling blocks in people’s way, against the teaching you were taught. Keep away from them. People like this are not serving our Lord Christ; they are serving their own stomachs. With smooth talk and fine-sounding words they lead astray the hearts of trusting people. Everyone has heard of your obedience, and so I am glad about you. Still, I want you to be wise in what is good and to keep yourselves untouched by what is evil. And before long the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Timothy, my co-worker, sends you greetings, and so do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my fellow Jews. I, Tertius, the one who wrote this letter down, greet you in the Lord. Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, sends you greetings. Erastus, the city treasurer, sends you greetings, and so does our brother Quartus.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you. Amen.
