About Jonah
Jonah is sent to Nineveh, capital of a brutal empire, and runs the opposite way. Storm, sea and fish return him to his commission; he preaches a single sentence and the whole city repents. The final chapter is the point of the book: Jonah is angry that God relented, and God’s closing question about a city of thousands who cannot tell their right hand from their left is left hanging.
