What Galatians 2:20 means
Paul describes the Christian life as an exchange of identity rather than a set of improvements. The old self has been put to death with Christ; the life now lived is his living within.
The last clause keeps it personal: who loved me and gave himself for me. Paul moves from the sweep of theology to the singular pronoun. It is a demanding verse to memorise honestly, because it does not leave room for a life lived mostly on your own terms.
