What 1 Corinthians 10:13 means
Three claims sit here, and each answers a lie temptation tells. That your struggle is uniquely shameful: no, it is common to man. That you are on your own: no, God is faithful. That you have no choice: no, there is a way out.
The promise is not that temptation stops, nor that resisting is easy, but that it is never actually inescapable. Paul writes this to a church failing in exactly these areas, which is what keeps it from sounding naive.
