About Habakkuk
Habakkuk is structured as a dialogue. The prophet asks why God tolerates violence in Judah; God answers that he is raising up the Babylonians, which troubles Habakkuk more. The reply he receives is to wait for the vision, and that the righteous will live by faith — a line Paul and Hebrews both take up. The book ends in a psalm of trust set to music, choosing joy before circumstances change.
