About 3 John
Third John is a personal letter to Gaius, praising him for supporting travelling teachers who went out for the sake of the Name and took nothing from unbelievers. It contrasts him with Diotrephes, who liked to put himself first and turned people away, and commends Demetrius. It is a small window onto how the early church’s hospitality and mission actually worked.
