Second Kings follows both kingdoms to their end: Israel falls to Assyria, and Judah, despite reforms under Hezekiah and Josiah, falls to Babylon. Elisha’s ministry fills the early chapters with miracles of provision and healing, including Naaman’s cleansing. The book is unsparing about why exile came, and yet closes with a small, deliberate note of hope as Jehoiachin is released from prison.
